Washoe County CDBG Program
Washoe County Commission Chambers
1001 E. Ninth Street, Building A
Reno, NV 89512
For FY24-25 Grants (Performance Period starting July 1, 2024)
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has made grant funds available through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. HUD’s objectives through this program are to provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and economic opportunities for low- to moderate-income residents. HUD provides funds to the State of Nevada for distribution on a competitive basis to Nevada’s 26 non-entitlement cities and counties. Only qualified cities and counties may receive funding; however, they may also sponsor applications from other local entities (nonprofit, quasi-governmental, etc.).
Washoe County is eligible to apply for projects located in unincorporated areas of the county. Following a public participation period, the following projects have been recommended by Washoe County staff for submission and will be reviewed and open for public comment at the January 23, 2024 meeting noticed above.
- Sidehill Drive Pedestrian Improvements Project, submitted by Washoe County (estimated budget: $594,300)
- Gerlach Infrastructure Update, submitted by Gerlach General Improvement District (estimated budget: $740,000)
Additional information about these projects and the CDBG process at Washoe County can be found on the staff report for the January 23 meeting.
